Private Planetary Gong Tutorials

Discover the art of playing planetary gongs in a private,
hands-on tutorial with Ron Pankratz.

The Art of Playing

At Chiron Acutherapeutics, sound is created with an array of resonant instruments: planetary gongs, including Crystal and Tibetan bowls. This private tutorial turns the focus to the gongs themselves, and to the art of bringing them fully to life.

Drawing upon decades of experience with therapeutic sound, Ron will help you explore the subtle techniques that bring a gong fully to life, including mallet choice, playing position, striking angle, pressure, rhythm, volume, and, most importantly, listening.

No previous gong-playing experience is required, only curiosity and a willingness to listen.

Sessions are private and one-to-one, suited to every level, from first-time players to experienced hands, and can continue as ongoing training, session by session, as your practice deepens.

Each 90-Minute Tutorial

Each 90-minute tutorial is shaped around your experience and interests. You'll have the opportunity to play and compare gongs from Ron's extensive planetary collection, discovering their individual voices and how they can be combined to create meaningful sound journeys.

Each planetary gong carries its own voice, a distinct tone and character. You'll learn how they can be played individually or combined to create calming, restorative sound journeys.

Offered in person at Chiron Acutherapeutics: practical instruction, not a certification course.
